You haven't missed the new Lone Wolf game?

Right now on Kickstarter there is a new Lone Wolf game. It is called Lone Wolf the Board Game. Simple right? Here is the way to support it:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1615043334/lone-wolf-the-board-game

The game is not a tabletop game with nice miniatures and stuff like that. Instead they are promoting Gary Chark's work. The game, an artbook and other stuff.

But I am into miniatures, I have no interest in cardboard figures so I will make my own. For Sommerlund I have taken Fireforges medievals, for Giaks I have ordered some goblins from Crooked Claw and for Vassagonians I have Gripping Beasts Berbers. For the Drakkarim? Maybe Red Box Games evil humans.

The Beta version of the rules and a scenario is free for downloading on Kickstarter. I plan to try it as soon as I have painted some figures for it, so maybe next week-end.

Here is my first Sommerlendings. Four soldiers and Captain Raldon. In the background are some  carts and fencing from 4ground.

More Hammerlendings

I haven't done so much since last time. I have only managed to paint four more miniatures. They are suppose to be Hammerlendings.

I have an idea that the Hammerlendings and Brigandi are basicly the some people, but that the Brigandi are mercenaries while the Hammerlending have some military obligation (like the yeomen?) to the Baron. Because of this there will be small differences between them, but the Brigandi will look more civilized are colourful than the more wild tribesmen.

I have also based the three Brigandi.
And a picture of what to come.

Now I have started painting some more figures, it's 2 Hammerlendings and 3 Brigandis.

Brothers in arms

Today I got the arms for the rest of my Brigandi. I hope I will have tie to glue them on tonight and maybe there will be some pictures.

No arms but more pictures

Still no arms (for the rest of the Brigandi) in the mailbox. So instead I have, as requested, taken two more pictures of my test figures.

First test models

My newest project is to make two small fantasy armies. I have always (since the 80's at least) been a fan of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf books so now I'm going to make the two armies from the Battle of Cetza (You can find more about it in the book The Dungeons of Torgar: http://www.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/lw/10tdot/sect280.htm).

I will start with the Brigandi. There are not much information about them. They were mercenaries. They fight as medium infantry. There is a picture of them in one book (Trail of the Wolf: http://www.projectaon.org/en/xhtml/lw/25totw/sect2.htm). We had a small discussion about them in the Project Aon forum (http://projectaon.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=2156).

And now I have painted the first three. It's a test to see if they turned out any good. The miniatures have the same kind of armour and trousers as in the picture (I think so any way), but I have chosen a different hair style. The reason is that the Hammerlanders are most likely a mix of Vaderish and Drakkarim and so I want them to be a little wild. I have also ordered some arms with bulging muscles and big axes and maces for the rest of the gang.

I gave them blue eyes, red hair and a little darker skin colour.
